Greetings and blessings: My name is Michael Guinn A Member of the Fort Worth Slams and I'd like to take a few moments to tell you about a program that utilizes creative writing, role play and motivational speaking to effect social, edcuational and personal change in students. I'm offering an intensely provocative curriculum that includes expert assistance on building higher self-esteem, self-awareness, and social relevancy through very unique and creative methods. Our workshop is profoundly personal approach to modeling appropriate social behavior. We beleive that by making teens more aware of how detrimental their destructive behavior can be to their future we can motivate them to want to change themselves. This empowers them and creates a fondation for critical thinking. No one in the country has tried this approach . It is unique and it works! TOUGH KIDS, TOUGH TIMES, TOUGH METHODS Let us share our knowledge and experience in a fusion of interpersonal communication tactics that are fun, engaging, and educational. The first step is to establish rapport and from that we build TRUST which will help us help your youth to open up and share. From that we'll incorporate techniques that instill pride in self and respect for others! This workshop includes free materials and one on one consultation that is intensely personal and REAL.

Mike Guinn a member of the Fort Worth Slam Team has built a national reputation for coordinating and hosting quality spoken word/poetry events, workshops and presentations that have helped hundreds of other poets grow into their potential as aspiring spoken word artists. And by doing so is uniting the poetry and spokenword community.
Established in 2001 by Mike Guinn, Janean Livingston, Stacy Williamson-Bledsoe and Anthony Douglas, the Fort Worth Slam Team is an now an accredited member of POETRY SLAM INC. Its purpose is to fuse poetry and spoken word together to create a hybrid style of performance art that expresses the heart as well as the art of the presenter.

Very few non-profit Literary Arts organizations have donated more time to youth, featured more national/HBO DEF POETS, or facilitated more at risk youth poetry workshops, slams, readings than the Fort Worth National Slam Team. Their tireless dedication to the art of creative self-expression has paved the wave for other North Texas Venues locally and beyond.
