I am Michael Guinn- Fort Worth's Poetry Slam Champion and member of the 2008 Fort Worth Slam Team. I have the distinct pleasure and honor of representing Fort Worth, TX in the National Poetry Slam competition in Madison, WI August 4-10, 2008. A poetry slam is a contest in which teams of spoken word artists perform original work before an audience and five randomly selected judges from that audience. Fort Worth will compete against 84 local, national and international teams. Each slam team participant of the 2008 Fort Worth Slam Team is seeking an individual donation to help defray the cost of travel and lodging expenses. Your financial contribution will help reduce the cost of travel, lodging and meals for the individual team members. We only ask that which you can afford.

All contributions are due no later than Monday, July 21, 2008.
